A Baby Food Review: Tous Les Jours Sesame Tapioca Bread Mix

Hi guys!

Remember this?

This is the 'Sesame Ball' from Paris Baguette, when I went to Seoul in 2012! I remember loving it so much I wanted to take it back home with me.

I am still loving it to this day, and trust me, you will not experience what joy is till you have this.

It's texture is so chewy, so it's really nom-able!
It has a strong taste of sesame, so if you're not a sesame lover you're not gonna like this.

Each day I crave and wait for a miracle that one day Singapore will have this!

Singapore has its own Paris Baguette's franchises, but the thing is that...

THEY DON'T SELL THE SESAME BALL TT_____TT

Devasted and sad, I was browsing around Parkway's Seoul Mart when I spotted the Tours Les Jours Sesame Ball mix!

OMG! I have seen it a couple of times in that mart, but since I was sad and really craving for these little sesame goodness, I decided to just buy the mix and see what happens.

The instructions are mostly in Korean but I tried my best to guess the ingredients (with some help from a  few websites) and finally did it almost perfectly!

In the box, you'll get 2 premixes, so you can make another batch of these whenever you crave for them!

The ingredients that you'll need are:

  • Premix (250g)
  • 1 egg
  • Milk (90 ml)
Thats all! So freaking simple right?! You don't even need yeast! Okay let's get started!

First up, mix the egg and milk together. I'm using oat and normal milk mixed together but you can certainly use normal milk.

After mixing those two ingredients, add in the premix.

At this point, you might want to switch to a spatula because it's gonna be really hard to stir as it's gonna form into a dough.

After kneading it with the spatula or your hands, it should look like this.

Okay, at this point, grab a handful of dough (for some websites, it says 40grams) and roll it into a ball, and then just place it onto a baking tray.

Bake for about 30 minutes and to test to see if its okay, your sesame ball should be a tad lighter than the original weight of the uncooked doughball.

My batch only made 6 sesame balls but some people state that theirs make at least 9.

There you have it! Your very own homemade, delicious and chewy sesame balls!

You can add some optional ingredients like matcha powder or cheese.

Okay so.. Annyeong! I hope you have a fun time making this recipe!
