Just like how our faces have oily and dry zones, our hair does too, especially for the scalp and the root ends.
Usually, people with combination hair would use 2 types of shampoos. However, it might still damage the hair to some extent.
For example, rich moisturising shampoos that target the dry ends might be too strong for the scalp, thus making the scalp even more oily, and even if you target the oily scalp with a lighter shampoo, it can cause the roots to be dry again.
Not to mention it costs a lot of money to buy 2 types of shampoos at once?
Good news to all the combination hair peeps! Essentials' Light Finish Volumising & Deep Cleansing Care are here to bring you the best of both worlds!

I have to admit, I hardly have an oily scalp, only because the shampoo that I am currently using is a little bit too strong, but oily scalp does come back especially in the afternoon since in Singapore it is almost scorching hot during the afternoons.

#5 hello gross hair |
Like take today, I had the practical module and by the end of it, my scalp was itching like crazy. Not to mention, hairspray is a bitch to remove. It usually takes me around 2 and a half washes to actually properly remove the hairspray from my hair.
So, to really test this product, I am actually gonna test how strong it is against the hairspray that I'm using, and if it makes my scalp really less oily and the ends of my hair smoother.
After careful considerations, I chose the Light Volumising Shampoo to try out! I decided to give the Deep Cleansing one to my friend and she will give me her review later on! However, if she refuses then I might probably give it away...
Anyways,
This is me at 5pm.

Dry ends due to bunning of the hair, hairspray and dip dye-ing. I regret the day I ever wanted to dye my hair cuz honestly it just destroyed the ends of my hair.
So I followed according to instructions on the bottle and used the massage brush as well.
When you use the massage brush, please use it in a side to side motion, not a circular motion.
P.s. I just realised that this brush is good for girls who do manicure on a daily basis as you don't have to use your nails to scrub your scalp, you have a brush to do it for you!
This is me at 5.30pm.

Okay, so first of all, it smells really good.
It's like a combination of honey and a type of floral scent. Okay it kinda smells like the shampoo I am currently using but a bit more sophisticated and way stronger trololol.
So I'm actually drying my hair now and I'll get back to you guys regarding the shampoo when my hair is dried! Meanwhile... I'M IMPRESSED. Did I mention how it usually took me 2 washes to get the hairspray out of my hair? Well, the shampoo, combined with the massage brush, it took me only 1 wash. ONE WASH GUYS.
Also, I don't usually use conditioner as my hair is already naturally smooth (self praise) but I will use it for this review! Remember girls, don't ever use conditioner on your scalp, it's too strong. Use the conditioner on the ends of your hair instead.
Okay! I'll be back after my hair is dried and combed!

#9 why hello |
However, regarding the light volumising thing, I'm not so sure if it did volumise my hair (my hair is pretty flat), but I'll keep at it. Maybe after a few washes my hair would be much more volumised and less flat. No really. Flat hair is the worst cuz it looks like the soul has been sucked out of you and you just look really plain and sad. So I'll keep you guys updated regarding the volumising part!
