Baby Food Review: Hey Cupcakes!

Hey all! So, today, I was walking around Joo Chiat Community Centre area with Cordell, when we came across a shop called Hey Cupcakes! I remember seeing it when I was in bus 16 a few weeks back, and I wanted to try the cupcakes out! So, I bought 4 cupcakes to try at home!

(P.S The location of the shop is just opposite Joo Chiat CC, well, really near there anyways)

You can buy the cupcakes in boxes of 2,4,6 & 12! They come in this really cute purple box that you can carry home safely! The shop owner is really nice too! ^^

The cupcakes vary in prices however. The daily cupcakes, like the Red Velvet or Grasshopper costs $3, while the special ones like Over the Rainbow costs $4. The special ones also comes out randomly on a weekly basis!

Each cupcake is sweet smelling and beautifully decorated^^

Caramel Crunch

They don't have a description for this cupcake, so :/

Appearance: 8/10

Taste: 9/10

Wow, this cupcake was super fluffy and moist. Also, there was a strong taste of caramel, and a slight hint of vanilla. The buttercream icing was also quite salty, which complemented well with the caramel.

Over the Rainbow

Appearance: 9/10

Taste: 7.5/10

Fluffy and moist, this cupcake would be the best treat for a sweet tooth. However, I'm not that much of a sweet tooth, so this didn't really do it for me. There was also a hint of almond flavour in there, or was it just me? Didn't really taste homemade either, but it's still a nice treat.

Grasshopper

Taste: 7.5/10

I was hoping that this would taste really good as I love peppermint and chocolate together. They are like, soulmates man. But I was a little disappointed, as the icing wasn't really smooth, it stuck to the knife as I was cutting a small portion of it. Also, the icing was a little sour, but maybe it's cuz today is such a humid day, and I ate it right away when I got home instead of leaving it in the fridge to cool a little.

Banana Split

Appearance: 8/10

Taste: 9/10

Whoa. This cupcake was good. The chocolate buttercream gave a rather nice finish to the sweet banana cake under it. The banana cake was also infused with some chocolate chips, which is found at the bottom of the cupcake. Overall, this cupcake was a bomb.

So these are the 4 cupcakes that I have tasted, I hope that you would go find that shop and try it out! You can eat your cupcakes in the shop itself as well!
