Seoul II: Day 6

Day 6: The Hunt for Myeongdong Gyoza

Hai guys! Okay I'm finally back with more stuff from our Seoul trip in 2015! Wow does time fly when you don't update your blog...

Anyways, let's go!

1

I look back in regret as I realised how much I actually miss my long hair. But oh well... it'll grow. I must mention that in Seoul its always Chulin and I, Bernice and Ashleigh. It only changed in the previous post. Anyways....

We didn't really have a plan on Day 7, it was more of a 'Get Samgyeopsal for Dinner' day, so we just proceeded to travel to Myeongdong via the subway and explore again.

2. Group shot again!

3. Honourable mention to that one strand of hair that loves to go up my nose

We walked around and realised that we hadn't eaten brunch, so Chulin suggested we go find Myeongdong Gyoza, which apparently, is pretty famous in Seoul.

So, with my reading skills and Chulin's google maps, we proceeded on....

Well, we got lost for 45 minutes before finally asking an old man for help wtf.

Anyways, when we finally found it, there was a small queue but it did pass pretty quickly, and we found ourselves a seat and ordered 2 bowls of noodles and mandu.

Btw, the ahjumma at the shop said my korean is really good hehehehehehehe.

4.  Mandu and noodles with more mandu with the spiciest kimchi I've ever eaten omg

5.

6. Can someone bring this back for me please
The mandu was so succulent and moist with tender cuts of meat and yangpa tucked into it omg. The noodles were really good too. It was really bouncy and soft, definitely handmade freshly in batches for the day.

The description is actually making me hungry for mandu wtf.

2 bowls was definitely enough for 4 people like seriously. The bowl of noodles seemed never ending and even me, who has a huge space for food in my stomach, felt full after finishing it.

Thank you Myeongdong Gyoza for your fantastic food!

Anyways, We decided to venture on and shop for more stuff after that wtf. Well, whilst shopping, we got hungry again, so we decided to stop at a random chicken stall and order their boneless chicken in yangnyam sauce.

7. It was aight, not the best but okay.

Funny side story, while we were just casually chatting and waiting for our food to arrive, the wind was blowing really strongly in our general direction, and there was a signboard in front of us wtf.

The signboard obviously couldn't hold the weight of itself and decided to fall on us wtf.

Only it didn't fall on us, it fell on Ashleigh instead.

I'm pretty sure her memory loss now is because of this wtf.

Anyways, we, okay, me, decided to take random photos of each other, and here are the results...

11.
Welp, we pretended it never happened after that.

Anyways, after that, I was still hungry and kinda grumpy cuz the chicken was kinda meh, so we decided to go get ice cream hehehe.

Okay, fine. We happened to see it and I wanted it okay, although I can never finish ice cream. Its true, its my shame. I cannot finish ice cream at all.

Anyways, Chulin and I bought the Vanilla Nokcha combo!

12.
I missed this stuff omg I had it when I was like... P5 wtf.

Anyways, we shopped and shopped again before deciding to head over to Hapjeong to eat at Sungyeol's chicken restaurant! Note that we thought it was a BBQ place at first so we were kinda shocked to realise it was a fried chicken restaurant instead. Nonetheless....

13.

14.

IT WAS THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN I EVER TASTED.

Guys I'm not kidding you right now, I had tears of joy after the first bite. The skin was so crispy and filled with so much flavour, not to mention the succulent and juicy tender flesh of the chicken omg I'm salivating wtf.

If you're ever in Seoul, you gotta go to Sungyeol's chicken restaurant and order their Olive oil chicken or something along those lines. You'll never, I repeat, NEVER see fried chicken the same way again.

After munching and filling our bellies with these juicy goodness, we decided to head back to Samgakji and explore the neighbourhood as we didn't actually get a chance to explore much, we pretty much head back to our apartment straight away most of the time wtf.

So, we stopped at a random samgyeopsal restaurant and just ordered 4 samgyeopsals omg.

15.

16.

17.
SO FUCKING TENDER.

What on earth did Koreans put in their meat??? It's so tender and rich with flavour without any marination wtf??

Also, it wasn't shown but we ordered 2 bottles of lemon soju as well, and we made friends with an ahjussi of the restaurant because we knew how to shake the soju and get rid of the foam on top as well HAHAHA.

Not to mention we were playing korean games while drinking as well.

We were obviously tipsy after the whole event. Trust me when I say that soju will mess you up big time.

18.
19.

20. We were obviously high af
Anyways, we went upstairs and we, okay not me, the others, basically went bonkers.

It wasn't the others it was Chulin wtf.

She started drawing unibrows on each of us wtf.

21.
Except me of course, she loves me enough to not destroy my face hehehehe.

Anyways, as payback....

22.

You know how it is HAHAHA.

Sigh, writing this really makes me miss Korea a lot more now. I was actually thinking of going back after my internship, but I'm pretty sure you guys would be bored of it already hahaha, but I was actually considering on going over to Busan or Jeju for the next trip, what do you guys think?

Anyways, I'll update Day 7 prolly after this post, or at least by tomorrow. I kinda wanna clear my pending updates before I get too busy to post anymore.

23.
Annyeong? See you in the next post!
