Product Review: ACUVUE® Oasys® 1-Day Contact Lenses

Hey guys! As you all may know, I'm an avid user of contact lenses.

1.
I've been wearing contact lenses that I've bought from Seoul ever since I came back from it. Although it really makes your eyes look real pretty, I've honestly faced many issues regarding the use of these contacts.

Since I've been working part time in an office with aircon blasting in your face for almost 9 hours with these contacts on, the dryness is no joke.

At the end of the day, my eyes actually feel so heavy that its hard to just keep my eyes open throughout the bus journey home.

Hence, I would like to introduce you guys to this!

2.

The Acuvue Oasys 1 Day Lenses! It definitely keeps up with my demanding days, especially when I'm required to work till 11pm at night under the air conditioner.

Fortunately, I had a $30 voucher that was applicable for 2 boxes of those lenses. You can get your own voucher here!

The ACUVUE Oasys is fitted with a Hydraluxe technology that can actually reduce dryness and exhausted eyes by minimising friction, hence allowing effortless blinking to remove signs of tiredness in your eyes. Basically, it allows your eyes to moisturise itself without making your eyes feel too dry.

So, I actually went over to Paris Miki at Liang Court to get my comprehensive eye health check to ensure that my eyes are healthy and suitable for wearing the Acuvue 1 Day contact lenses.

Its pretty easy to find its location, just head down to Basement 1 via the travellator, Paris Miki should be on the right, directly opposite Duke Bakery.

Anyways, I went in for my consultation and was greeted by the Eye Care Professional, Kian Teck. So basically, at this point, your ECP would actually ask you a few questions in regards to your daily lifestyle currently. I told him that I've been working for the past few days in an air-conditioned room for about 9 hours straight, which caused me to have dryness in my eyes at the end of the day, making my eyes exhausted.

3. They serve tea as well haha

Additionally, I did inform Kian Teck that I've been wearing contact lenses from Korea for the past year and its rather drying under air conditioning.

Anyways, I didn't really need to check if my eye degree had increased or not since I actually went to change my glasses about a month ago, but we did the check anyways, just in case it increased overtime.

4.
Basically, you have to focus your eye into the machine and a hot air balloon would appear. It might appear a little blur at times but that's fine. So he checked it and the degree was the same thank goodness. I should stop watching anime till 4am in the morning.

Anyways, we then proceeded on to contact lens fitting.

Basically, contact lens fitting allows you to choose the different sizes of contact lenses for your eyes. This allows the wearer (AKA me) to decide which size of contact lens are more comfortable. Every eye is different, hence the size of the lens can affect a wearer's comfort, especially for long wearing lenses.

Kian Teck allowed me to try both 9.0 and 8.5 together, so that I had an 'on the spot' comparison between the two. He did inform me that the 8.5 can be a bit of a tight fit.

I generally felt that the 8.5 was more comfortable, hence we went back to the same machine just to check if the contact lens were really fitted perfectly to the pupil without any mild discomfort to the eyes.

Okay furthermore, your ECP would actually ask you to look in different directions while he looks at your contact lens, he might even nudge the lens a little while checking on the fitting.

Apparently it turned out fine, and we moved on to the actual eye health assessment. This is the part where they actually check the internal and external part of the eye. I know, freaking cool!

5.

So they checked the front of my eye first, using the same machine for any common eye infections, such as cataracts, any UV damage or even conjunctivitis. The front of my eye was okay, again, thank goodness.

My ECP then proceeded on to check the internal part of my eye, this is to check for any signs of glaucoma, internal pressure or even scratches on the cornea.

Okay, my brain had a wtf moment because how is that even possible but technology everyone, technology.

Basically, you'll be brought to another machine where you'll be told to focus on a green light. Your ECP should warn you that there will be a bright flash that will suddenly appear but it generally won't hurt your eyes at all.

Anyways, are you ready to see it? The inside of my eye?

Tadah.

Its so cool! Basically, my ECP informed me of the optic nerve, if there are any signs of swelling of the blood vessels, the retina and any other abnormal signs.

There were none. I've been way too lucky haha.

7.
Anyways, now that we're done with the eye health check, we proceeded on to finalise the product purchase! Acuvue Oasys 1 Day contact lenses is sold at the retail price of $72 per box. Pretty pricey, but you get about 30 lenses in each box, not to mention you have a discount of $30 off 2 boxes, so... about $42 a box and about a month's worth of daily contact lenses.

So, after that session, I had to test out the lens for myself. I mean, seeing is believing right? Heh. So, come #seemyworld and how the lenses fared in the demanding lifestyle I lead.

Basically, I had this period of time where I had to work non-stop for 5 days straight for 8 hours, while staring at the computer screen the entire time. Ain't it the perfect time to test these lenses out.

8.

I had a 9 hour shift that day from about... 2pm to 10pm. I honestly didn't even leave the office at all, prolly only going out once to the washroom and that was it.

Verdict?

It's definitely way more moisturising than the lenses that I bought from Korea. I remember at one point of time actually tearing up while wearing the Korean contact lenses because my eyes were so dry.

So, it literally means that you can wear this out for the whole day and after a long demanding day, your eyes would still feel fresh and moisturised, without feeling too exhausted. I actually didn't fall asleep in the bus after that long day at work, or should I say long night? Anyways, #achievementunlocked.

These lenses will actually boost up your productivity as compared to other lenses that are not as moisturising as your eyes will literally feel less tired and more refreshed.

Just to give you a fairer comparison.

9. Sorry for the half bald selca but really the fringe cut was a mistake

I'm gonna test the Oasys 1-Day Contact Lenses literally against the contact lenses I got from Korea.

10. Left- Klenses. Right-Oasys

Oh how I hate my natural pupil size after wearing  K-lenses. Anyways, I wore this for about 2 hours, just doing my work and staring at the computer screen the entire time.

Although both felt really comfortable on the eye, my left eye started feeling a little dry after about an hour, while the right eye was still completely comfortable and not at all taxing on the eye.

11.
ACUVUE Oasys 1-Day Contact Lenses definitely is the lens that keeps up with my demanding days. In fact, for you people who are just starting out your career and heading into a more demanding lifestyle, this lens are definitely for you, especially if you're required to work long hours in front of the computer.

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
